Stop rearranging sentences around one word
Add the words you avoid — your name, a drink order, a number — and practice them with gentle onset, cancellation, and pull-out until they lose some of their charge.
A daily ~10-minute speech practice program designed with speech-language pathology principles. Technique reps, AI conversation practice, optional Audio Lab (DAF, FAF, metronome), feared-word drills, and CBT-style mindset tools. Not therapy, not a diagnosis, not a cure, and not a replacement for a licensed SLP.
Word-switching is a tax
Saying “water” because you cannot say “coffee” gets the order in. It also trains avoidance. The trainer targets the word you skipped.
Your list, not a generic drill
You add the words. Practice uses stuttering-modification techniques on those items, then puts them back into sentences.
Pair with a real situation
A feared word plus a phone-call or meeting scenario is closer to life than a word list alone.
What practice can change
More willingness to speak, less avoidance, and structured reps you can measure. No fluency guarantees.
